Coalition|Coalición Unida’s ANNUAL HOLIDAY TOY DRIVE Benefiting Needy
Children and those Living with HIV/AIDS distributed over 4,100 toys to the
community!
Miami, Fl… December, 2008- For over 4 years, Unity Coalition|Coalición Unida has been leading the
efforts of the ANNUAL HOLIDAY TOY DRIVE Benefiting Needy Children and those Living with HIV/AIDS.
This year, THANKS TO YOU, we have surpassed all previous record of collection & distribution!
With the partnership of Club Azucar and Clásica 92 FM family, including radio & TV comedy personalities
Gilberto Reyes y Miguelito Gonzalez - "Los Fonomemecos" – as official Godparents for this year Toy Dirve,
Uc Toy Dirve co-chairman Ron Brenesky described it as “An ideal partnership ” that Uc was very proud
of and hope to continue next year.
“We admire the work Unity Coalition does in fighting discrimination and helping children in need, and
are proud to be involved in the 2008 Toy Drive” said Ana de Moya-Levy, Manager of Office Affairs &
Executive Assistant to Vice President/General Manager of Miami Radio Stations WCMQ-FM, WXDJ-FM,
WRMA-FM & WRAZ-FM. “The Clásica 92 family challenges all in the community to become involved in
this great project and do all they can to help raise funds and donations for this years UC Toy Drive”
added Moya-Levy.
Donations were received from Ambiente Magazine, America TEVE -Show de Maria Laria Arrebatados
and Production team, Clásica 92.3 FM Radio, GaySoFla.com, Jamboree Lounge, Latino Boys Magazine,
Miami Gay Blog, Iglesia Yoruba Motibore, the Miss Cuban-American Pageant, Marytrini.Com, Miami-
Dade County Commissioner Bruno Barreiro, Milancita.Com, and many, many more community volunteers.
Unity Coalition/Coalición Unida is a leading Latino/Hispanic gay civil-rights nonprofit initiative, offering
leadership on issues that concern Latino/Hispanic LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) and other
minority groups across the U.S., is once again proud to lead the community efforts for its ANNUAL TOY
DRIVE, Benefiting Needy Children and those Living with HIV/AIDS. To date, UC has presented over 14,000
new toys, clothing and various other gifts to children across South Florida, the Dominican Republic &
Honduras. “This years we collected & distributed over 4,100 toys & gifts. In an tough economic year, this
was a great effort by all, and much appreciated by the children receiving them.” said UC Toy Drive co-
chair & Club Azucar Owner Arturo Alvarez. Some of the organizations that received the toys from Unity
Coalition|Coalición Unida this year included: La Iniciativa Hispana para la prevención del SIDA; UNIDAD
de Miami Beach; Ministerio Luz para las Naciones, Inc.; Iglesia Monte De Sion; La Liga Contra El SIDA; C.O.
D.I.; Miami Police Athletic Group and many others.
Collection and distribution of toys for needy South Florida and Caribbean communities was once again
overseen by Unity Coalition, along with return sponsors AMBIENTE Magazine and Club Azúcar. Various
other individuals and organziations have already committed their efforts to this important community
project for 2009, led by UC Toy Drive committee organizers Arturo Alvarez & Ron Brenesky.
